Mylan in the UK was originally founded, in 1981, as Generics [UK] Limited. The company rapidly grew into a leading generic pharmaceutical supplier of high quality low cost products encompassing all the major therapeutic classes and became part of the generics business of Merck KGaA in 1994.
Generics [UK] Limited was purchased by Mylan in October 2007 and on November 4th, rebranded to Mylan to complete the transition of becoming part of a global company infrastructure that offers increased portfolio development opportunities and supply chain efficiency, helping us to achieve our goal of becoming the preferred supplier in the UK.
